6-carbon
9-Fluorine
12-Magnesium
Mg is cation
fluoride is an anion
carbon has 4 valence electrons.
when C reacts with anion it is cation and when with cation it is anion.
Normally we can say C is anion

element x-6-carbon
element-y-9-florine
element-z-12-magnessium
so therefore florine will form anion(-) and magnessium and carbon will form an cation(+)

aryan36690: cation is positively charged and anion negative, you did a mistake
aryan36690: fluorine is anion as it gains 1 electron
