Elements in periodic table show periodicity of properties. List any four such properties. Answer quickly please ! plz explain them a bit. only definitions of the properties is also enough. i would be thankful.

the four periodic properties are:-
1)Ionization potential- the amount of energy required to donate or remove an electron from the outermost shell of an atom is called ionization potential
2)Atomic radius:-it is the distance between the nucleus and the outermost shell of an atom.
3)Electron affinity:- it is the amount of energy required to accept an electron from the outer most shell of an atom.
4)Electro negativity:- it is the tendency of an atom to attract electrons towards itself

Answer:

Trends in the periodic table :

1. VALENCY

Down the group:

all the elements of the same group have same valency.

along the period :

the valency increases from 1-4(till group 14) and decreases to 0 (group 15-18)

2. ATOMIC SIZE

Down the group:

the atomic radius increases as we go down the group as the no. of shells increases as the nuclear charge decrease and thus atomic size increases

along the period :

atomic radius decreases along the period because the nuclear charge increases and the nucleus of atom tends to pull the atom towards the center.

3. METALLIC CHARACTER :

Down the group:

metallic character increases down the group as they tend to lose electrons easily because the shells are farther away.

along the period :

metallic charge decreases and along the period nuclear charge increases.

4. NON-METALLIC CHARACTER :

Down the group:

down the group effective nuclear charge decreases as the valence electrons in the outer most shell are further away and this can be lost easily. Non-metallic character decreases

along the period :

effective nuclear charge increases along the period therefore it is difficult to lose electrons or non metallic character increases along the period
