Answer:

2x + 4y = 10 (i)

8x + 2y =6 (ii)

multiplying (i) by 4, we get

8x + 16y =40 (iii)

By elimination method, for (ii) and (iii)

8x + 2y = 6

- 8x + 16y = 40

- - - (Changing signs)

_________________

- 14y = -34

y = 34 ÷ 14

Substituting

.

y = 34 \div 14

in equation (i)

2x +4y =10

2x + 4(34 ÷ 14) = 10

2x + 136 ÷14 = 10

28x + 136 = 10

28x = 10 - 136

x = -125

x = -125 ÷ 28

Hope this is your answer.....please recheck :)
