Explanation: Female Anopheles mosquito is a vector of the parasite called Plasmodium that causes malaria. Female Anopheles mosquito picks up the parasite from infected people when they bite to obtain blood needed to nurture their eggs. It cannot transmit elephantiasis because the filarial worms like wuchararia do not enter Anopheles mosquito.
