Answer:

x=(2-y)÷2

x=(12-3y)÷4

(2-y)÷2=(12-3y)÷4

(2-y)=(12-3y)÷2

4-2y=12-3y

y=8

2x+8=2

2x= -6

x= -3

x = - 3

Step-by-step explanation:

2x + y = 2 ..... ( 1 )

4x + 3y = 12 ..... ( 2 )

Multiply equation ( 1 ) with 2

( 2x + y = 2 )× 2

4x + 2y = 4 ..... ( 3 )

Subtracting equation ( 3 ) from equation ( 2 )

We get

y = 8

Putting the value of y = 8 in equation ( 3 )

4x + 2y = 4 ..... ( 3 )

4x + 2 ( 8 ) = 4

4x + 16 = 4

4x = 4 - 16

4x = - 12

x = - 12 / 4

x = - 3

x = - 3

___________________________

Let's check the value of x and y by putting them in equation ( 2 )

4x+3y=12

4 ( - 3 ) + 3 ( 8 ) = 12

-12 + 24 = 12

12 = 12

( y , x ) = ( 8 , - 3 )
