6x = 1 + 3y

x= (1+3y)/6

x = 1/6 + y/2 ..............(i)

putting (i) in the given first equation, we get

(5/6 + 5y/2) + y = 2

7y/2 = 2 - 5/6

7y/2 = 7/6

y = 2/6 =1/3

and x = 1/6 + (1/3)/2 =2/6 = 1/3
