Given,

Elin stays on the International Space station for 114.1 hours.

The space station orbits the earth once every 42 minutes.

To find,

The number of orbits that the space station will complete, during Elin's stay.

Solution,

At first,we have to convert the hours of Elin's stay into minutes, for simple mathematical calculations.

So,

1 hour = 60 minutes

114.1 hours = 60×114.1 = 6846 minutes

Now,

42 minutes = 1 orbit

1 minute = 1/42 orbit

6846 minutes = 6846/42 = 163

Hence, the space station will complete 163 orbits during Elin's stay.
