•They are thick walled

•Arteries carry oxygenated blood

•Arteries have lumen of small size

•The pressure of blood is high in arteries.

•Pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood.

•Valves are absent

2.Veins .

•Veins are thin walled

•Veins carry deoxygenated blood.

•Veins have lumen of big size

•Veins have low blood pressure

•Pulmonary vein arising from lungs carries oxygenated blood.

•Valves are present .

Arteries and veins carry blood .Arteries carry pure blood and veins carry impure blood.

>>Largest Artery is Aorta.

>>Veins have valves.These valves helps in avoiding backward flow of blood

three difference between arteries and vain are :-

  1. most of the arteries carry oxygenated blood except pulmonary artery where as most of the vain carry deoxygenated blood except pulmonary vain.
  2. arteries are thick and have more pressure but vain are thin and have low pressure inside the vain .
  3. arteries have no valves but vain have valves.
