The brain and the spinal cord are known as the Central Nervous System (CNS). Function-wise, the brain serves as the centre for sensing, thinking, reasoning, remembering and sending executive commands to different parts of the body. Whereas the spinal cord serves as the message channel taken in and out of the brain and is also responsible for the quick and life-saving reflexes.
