Modern Lyrics Becoming Explicit For Young Audience

The question you have asked, should be a serious concern of parents. I completely agree that modern lyrics are becoming too explicit for not only young audience, but also teenagers and people ranging between the age of 18-25 years.

\textsf{"Where Words Fail, Music Speaks"}

Music is something that soothes our soul. Ever listened to classical Indian music? The Indian Classical music gives a peaceful and soothing effect to the listener, and helps him to attain some time for his soul in his full of chaos life. It's scientifically and medically suggested for someone suffering from mental pain to listen to calm music. It helps them to overcome from the disease.

Now this was the talk of music, but what about the lyrics? Researches show that children and teenagers learn a lot from what they see and feel. So do they learn from what they read and listen? Yes they do, but it's an irony that good things they read, takes more time for them to learn but bad things are learnt by them in seconds. Sexually explicit lyrics shrinks the brain of teenagers.

Going back some decades, songs like 'Lag Ja gale', 'O hamnava', 'Mere Meet Re' were made. Their lyrics displays the values that one should have. They promoted affection and love.

These days, we have got some songs which promote drinking vodka or doing some kalesh.

Now what would the teens and children learn? Not only this, some songs which are too vulgar or completely nonsensical and socially unacceptable, are able to reach on the peak of latest trends. I am not saying to promote religious hymns and put them on trends, but it should be lyrically moral songs that should be in the trends.

Songs should be made that can be listened openly in public, in front of not only friends but also family. Earphones were made to listen songs when you don't want to disturb others, not to listen vulgar songs to keep you safe from parents. We see many teens getting involved into sexual activities. This is because of what they see and listen. Bad things always have greater attraction and impact than good things, but the good results are shown when one is attached to good things.

People often say these songs help them to overcome depression. Alright, you may be correct, but what would happen if one day those lyrics are used for you? Songs that are calm, helps you to overcome depressions. These lyrics generate anger and results in bad character.

I am not saying all modern lyrics are bad. Many modern songs are perfect example of good lyrics + calm music. But those songs are not as much appreciated as compared to vulgar songs.

People should understand the real sense of music. They should boycott these songs. Parents should keep an eye on what their children are listening to. Vulgar songs that are not acceptable for a good society, should immediately be censored. The lyricist of these songs should think before what they are writing. Then only, music would be the real music.
