Class 10th Maths Question✌


The lower window of a house is at a height of 2 m above the ground and its upper
window is 4 m vertically above the lower window. At certain instant the angles of
elevation of a balloon from these windows are observed to be 60° and 30°
respectively. Find the height of the balloon above the ground.

Answer:

the height of the balloon from the ground= H = 6+x=(6+2)m=8m

Explanation:

Let the height of the balloon from the ground be H m

∴H= (6+ x) m

Now,

tan60= (4+x)/y

⇒ √3=(4+x)/y

⇒y=(4+x)/√3............(i)

tan 30= x/y

⇒1/√3=x/y

⇒y=x√3.....................(ii)

From (i) & (ii)

(4+x)/√3=x√3

⇒ 4 + x = 3x

⇒ 4= 3x - x

⇒x=2
