The Giant was called Selfish because he didn't allow the children to play in his garden.

The giant has a large beautiful garden.But he does not want to share it with anybody.He drives away children and builds a high away around it.He puts a notice board:

'Trespassers will be prosecuted'.

So,he is rightly called selfish.
