KHADAR :-
Khadar is the region which is present in the flood Plains of the northern plains and consists of the newer Alluvial deposits.
The Alluvial deposits are highly fertile and are replenished by the floods by the perennial rivers like Ganga, Yamuna and Bramhaputra. The Khadar soil can support high cultivation and are present in the most cultivable land of India that is the northern plains.
Soil contains high humus matter and fertility but the composition is very low in Sandy material or loamy content.
BHANGAR :-
These are also present in the Northern flood Plains of India but at a higher altitude.
These are relatively older Alluvial soil and the fertility of these is comparatively lower than Khadar.
Bhangar has a high sandy and loamy content.
The amount of pebbles and stones called as 'Kankar-pathar' is very high. These form an umbrella like feature and are located higher than Khadar.
BHABHAR :-
Bhabhar is a region which is present to the south of the foothills of Himalayas called as shivaliks.
The amount of kankar and Patthar present in this region is very high.
It is found in southern Nepal and northern India that lies south of the foothills of shiwaliks running just above the Terai region running parallel to it.
The rivers disappear in this belt. This belt has very less fertility and consists of mostly sandy and stony soil.
TERAI:-
Terai lies to the south side of Bhabhar and it runs parallel to it. Terai also lies to the south of the foothills of himalayas called as Shiwaliks.
Terai support cultivation and is a region of very high humidity.
The rivers which disappear in Bhabhar reappear in Terai region.
This region is crossed by various perennial rivers like Ganga, Yamuna et cetera.
Terai is a marshy area and the mangrooves are common in this area. Plants can be seen in this area and is the only cultivable part of himalayas.
Terai is often referred as MADESH in the parts of south Nepal.
It is found mostly in southern Nepal and northern India.
It lies towards the south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas, the Siwalik Hills, and towards the north of the Indo-Gangetic Plain.
ALLUVIUM :-
The alluvium is the loose and unconsolidated matter of the soil which are often reshaped and replenished by the Floods.
Alluvium is the integral part of Alluvial soil and often Alluvial soil is referred as Alluvium.
These are present in Khadar at a great extent. Often found in Bhangar and Terai regions.
