1. To avoid desertion, the Constitution was changed to make it illegal for elected MLAs and MPs to switch parties.
2. The Supreme Court issued an order limiting the power of money and criminals by requiring the production of an affidavit detailing all current property and criminal proceedings.
3. The Election Commission issued an order requiring political parties to conduct organizational elections and file income tax filings.
