I. Frederick Sorrieu, a French artist , in 1848 prepared a series of 4 prints depicting his dream of a world made up of "Democratic and social republics".

ii. In his first print the people of America and Europe marched in along train offering homage to the statue of Liberty.

iii. The female figure carried the torch of enlightenment in one hand and in the other hand there was the charter of rights of mam

iv.the procession was led by Switzerland and United States and followed by France and Germany.

v. In Sorrieu's utopian vision , the people of the world were grouped as distinct nations , identified through their flags and national costumes.

vi. From the heavens above , the christs, saints and angels gazed upon the scene . They are used by the artist to symbolise fraternity among the nations.
