Given:

Total no. of fruits bought by Emma and Anna = 25

The cost of each apple that Emma got = $ 2

The cost of each orange that Anna got = $ 3

The combined total cost of apples and oranges = $ 60

To find:

The no. of oranges that Anna got

Solution:

Let "x" be the no. of apples bought by Emma and since the total no. of fruits bought was 25 then "(25 - x)" will be the no. of oranges bought by Anna.

Now,

According to the question, we can form an equation which is as follows:

2x + 3(25 - x) = 60\\\\\\2x + 75 - 3x = 60\\\\\\75 - x = 60\\\\\\75 - 60 = x\\\\\\x = 15

So, we get the no. of apples x = 15

∴ The no. of oranges = 25 - x = 25 - 15 = 10

Thus, Anna got 10 oranges from the market.
