(iii) it make teeth stronger and prevent cavities, it can also help reverse early tooth decay. When tooth enamel is weakened by acid, fluoride promotes a chemical reaction that replaces minerals, such as calcium and phosphate, to strengthen the enamel. This also makes it more resistant to future acid attacks.
