Let the base (non-equal side) be x.

So the congruent sides each will be 2x - 13.

Perimeter = 24 cm

⇒ x + 2x - 13 + 2x - 13 = 24

⇒ 5x - 26 = 24

⇒ 5x = 50

⇒ x = 10

⇒ 2x - 13 = 7

∴ The sides of the triangle are 7 cm, 7 cm and 10 cm.

Hope this helps you.

Thank you. :-))

Given:

Perimeter of isosceles triangle = 24 cm

Let the length of the base = x cm

According to question

Length of equal side = 2x - 13

We know,

Perimeter of triangle = Sum of all sides

24 = (2x - 13) + (2x - 13) + x

24 = 5x - 26

24 + 26 = 5x

x = \dfrac{50}{5}

x = 10

Length of equal side = 2(10) - 13

= 20 - 13

= 7

So, length of the sides are 7 cm, 7 cm and 10 cm.
