Red data book of India is a document which contains the list of all the species whose existence in our country is threatened by one or the other means. It is basically a means to register the information on the threat status of the species (plants and animals) so that any step can be taken in order to save them from getting extinct (in case of endangered species). As on the data released in 2011 the red book consists of 48 endangered species.
