smile2004: endosmosis is the movement of water molecules from the surroundings inside the cell(this leads to the swelling up of the cell) and exosmosis is the movement of water molecules from the cell to the surroundings(this leads to shrinking of the cell). during endosmosis the surrounding has a higher concentration of water molecules and lower concentration of sloutes and thus water moves inside whereas in exosmis the surrounding has lower concentration of water molecules
