Energy band gap size for semiconductors is in the range 2-3 ev and it is applicable for the client student to collect right of it.

In the spacing the orbitals form two bands is called the valence and also conduct band.

It provide 5.5 ev band gap among them.

Each and every electrons have energy to surmount this wide energy gap and become conduction in the part of insulator.
