It is true that energy can not be destroyed. However the amount of usable form of energy sources are limited. Once they get consumed, the energy will be lost in the form of heat which can not be captured back. Hence, this calls for the conservation of the available sources of energy.

This is because energy can be converted from one form to another and as we “use” an energy source, it gets converted into less usable forms.
For example, we use candles for lighting. In the burning process, the chemical energy of the candle gets converted into heat and light. But we cannot put the melted wax, and the heat lost to the environment back to get the candle.
Thus the reason we face energy crisis is because as we utilise energy resources, they get converted into less usable forms….
