the sound is absorbed by the ear drum and other parts of the ear
the eardrum absorbs the energy and in turn moves to the ear ossicles therefore the energy is transformed from one form to another in accordence with the law of conservation of energy which states energy is neither be created nor be destroyed it transforms from one form to another
and also sound required medium for propagation
