The main source of energy is light/sun energy absorbed by producers/plants. Some of it is lost while physical activities. The primary consumers eat plants and get that energy e.g. rabbit. The primary consumer is eaten by secondary consumer, e.g. snake. Rabbit's energy is transferred to snake. The snake is then eaten by tertiary consumer, e.g. lion. Snakes energy is transferred to lion. The lion then uses that energy for physical activities. Hence, energy flows in a food chain
