Firstly kinetic energy, which is due to its velocity and mass so the faster it travels the more energy it can give to whatever it bumps into. On a side note, temperature is made up of translational (kinetic), vibrational and rotational energy. This is more applicable to molecules which can vibrate and rotate, but still holds true that a lot of kinetic energy quickly results in a transfer of that energy and therefore heat.
