i fired a cracker
was happy and glad.
It went to the front,
and hit to a lad.
The lad was my favourite,
filled always with life.
Now I found him quiet,
burning with cry.

No water could save him ,
No ambulance could take him ,
As he lay there burning away .
Nobody could help him,
All were gaping,
And the boy could do nothing but lay.
He cried in pain,
He yelped for help,
His mother on seeing him,
Did feign.
I stood there staring ,
My heart was just breaking ,
As the boy slowly passed away.
And nothing could be done now,
The damage was done,
And all we could do was pray.
So burst no crackers,
Spoil no ground,
Say no to fire works
Stay safe and sound.
