I am writing to request permission to organize a celebration of Divali in our school/college this year as we have not had celebrations for the past 12 years. We can organize it in the school grounds in the evening so that the school/college schedules are undisturbed. If you agree, I will form a small team to assist. We have adequate time to organize a cultural program including an orchestra drawn from our own students, a short play, a stand-up comic act, a fish pond all of it to take place between 5 pm and 7 pm or 7:30 pm followed by an early buffet. The buffet will be followed by fireworks on the grounds with safe items. A contribution from staff and students of a suitable amount will help to make this a community effort and ensure universal participation.
