The Postmaster was wishing a letter from her only daughter Miriam who married to a soldier of Punjab regiment. So, he was waiting for her letter since many years.

The question is taken from NCERT English chapter "A Letter to God".

It is about a poor farmer, Lencho, who is waiting for rain to harvest his ripe rice crop.

But after a hailstorm, his crop is destroyed.

Since he has extreme faith in God, he writes a letter to God asking him for a monetary help of 100 pesos.
