I would choose to keep a sturdy, miniature electronic record player that activates upon opening the time capsule. As soon as the time capsule is opened upon discovery, the record player will play pleasant and soothing music, followed by messages delivered separately by a man and woman, in several languages of the world.
The message would greet the finders, identify the speakers, state the time when the capsule was sealed and give a general state-of-affairs of the world as on that date.

If I were up to choose only one item from the 21st century to place in the time capsule for the future generations. I would choose smart phone. Twenty-first century has brought many advancement in technology which has become a part and participle in everyone’s life. Smart phones have the technology of storing large memory like we can store books, we can live stream internet from any corner of the country.
For example:
we can listen to the music, chat with group of friends either by video calling or by group messaging like whatsapp. We can even order many items like vegetables, groceries and clothes etc by sitting at home. Using smart phone we can upgrade ourselves by knowing daily updates around us.
