The topic - IN SOME WAYS A MODERN CHILD HAS A BETTER LIFE AT SCHOOL THAN HIS PARENTS HAD WHEN THEY WERE AT SCHOOL - is highly controversial. However, I would like to stand for the motion. Some people might argue that nowadays the pressure that is put upon students and the expectations that they are forced to meet is impossible and i agree with that. However, considering that we live in the 21st century and we have become so advanced with constant growth in development in several fields, that kind of pressure is expected. Unlike our parents who only had books to refer to, we have the entire internet at our command. Furthermore, we live in a much more accepting and tolerant world and society. Physical bullying has reduced due to increase in acceptance. We are free to make choices regrading our education. Earlier, women were psychologically forced to go into home sciences while men took the STEM subjects. Unlike in our parents' generation, we have the liberty to freely express our opinions without being judged or shunned into a corner. This kind of freedom wasn't available earlier due to abstract prejudice that was fueled by stereotypes, baseless discrimination and power imbalances. Nowadays, people are more open minded. Students all over the world are breaking stereotypes and accomplishing great feats. We can freely pen our opinions regarding our thoughts, opinions, sexuality, likes, dislikes etc. without being afraid of the unfair repercussions. Students are given much more credit and their voices are heard. They have finally been recognized as the future of or world. Considering these aspects, i believe that we do indeed have a better and more free schooling experience than what our parent had.
