Question

(English)write a short paragraph on the topic : Would you rather lose all of your memories from birth to now or lose your ability to make new long term memories? Why?

Wouldn't want to lose my old memories. Definitely.
Why? Because....
If I forget the past, I have nothing to compare my new thoughts with. I would become as a child again, not even a child a baby, not even that a blank vacuous hole.   It  might be a nice  escape, but only in short sightedness. It's nearly the same as death, also the same as birth/rebirth. Me, myself, and I would cease to be. A person is not an entity, but a continuum. If you erase the past, you erase the person, maybe not physically, but essentially, Right? I've had a couple whiskeys, anyone care to debate this? 

the other half of this question kills me too. I don't want want to be stuck as I am forever...
