Subject : Regarding the rise of pollution in the rivers

Dear Sir/ Ma'am,

With due respect I beg to state that I'm Bhavya a student of VIII-th standard, reading in Delhi Public School. I want to bring the attention of the readers of this reputed newspaper to the problem of rise in pollution in the rivers.

The rivers which once had crystal clear water, were the reason of beginning of civilisation, but today as we look at most of the rivers, we find them full of waste products discharged by human. In rural areas bathing the cattles in rivers. washing utensils, washing cloths of people suffering from some communicable disease are some of the most significant reasons for this pollution. In urban areas the chemical discharge of the industries and the domestic wastes contribute equally to this increase in level of river pollution. This causes severe damage to the ecosystem of the river (mostly fishes)

Why don't we take care of those natural resources for which we exists today? Some rivers like the Ganges which is considered holy is also polluted. Instead of washing utensils and cloths in the rivers water we can take a bucket or two away from the river and wash them. Instead of throwing the warm chemical discharge we should equalise its temperature to that of river water. If we don't become aware of the pollution then one day along with other animals we human beings will also be in danger. So let's come forward to take a pledge to decrease this increasing level of river pollution.

Thanking you,

Bhavya
