eg:- digestion of food

        rusting of iron

chemical equations :- a chemical reaction can be expressed symbolically by using chemical equations

Chemical reactions are the process in which new substances with new properties are formed.

During a chemical reaction atoms of one element do not change into dose of another element. Only rearrangement of atoms takes place in a chemical reaction.

1). The new substances which take part in chemical reaction are called reactants.

2). The new substances produced as a result of chemical reaction are called products.

The burning of magnesium in air to form magnesium oxide is an example of chemical reaction.
