Formulas in Excel and its application

To add entries cells: Let us consider 5 cells in the excel sheet has a filled up value, to add them the formula is $= (A1+A2+A3+A4+A5)$. Then click enter. The sum is obtained.

SUM Functions : The above step can be done easily with less manual intervention. Use Function $= SUM (A1:A5)$, then click enter to obtain the results.

Average Function: Use the function $= Average (A1:A5)$ to obtain the average of the entries.

TRIM: To remove undefined spaces between the entries use Trim function. For example, let the entry in the cell B1 be India       2020. Here there is unused space between India and 2020. To remove use $= TRIM(B1)$. The result will be India 2020.
