enlist the characteristic features of cnidarians which show advancement over poriferans➡ Cnidarian isn't just a large group of colonizing cells, its also considered to be diploblastic. This means it has 2 germ layers. Another feature that makes a Cnidarian more complex than an organism in the phylum Porifera is motility, Poriferans can not move, this makes it difficult to hunt prey which is why they use filter feeding to collect nutrients out of the water! Another way Cnidarians once again prove to be superior to Poriferans is they specialized cells called Nematocytes. These cells contain a preloaded barbed harpoon that can fire in the blink of an eye if the trigger is set off. Neither phylum is Cephalized, however Cnidarians have radial symmetry which is another step up from the Asymmetrical Poriferans. The last way Poriferans are bested by the Cnidarians is the development of a nervous system. More specifically a nerve net. The nerbe net allows Cniadarians to respond and react to their environments.

hope it helps you:)
