Goal setting can be a very useful tool, when properly set out and made achievable. Most of the disadvantages arise when non-realistic constraints are put in place. Set an achievable goal but allow yourself the freedom to reach it however you want, or feel is best. This allows you to find creative ways to get there instead of just following one route. Just be yourself, find your own path and the success will follow.
