Enlist the different types of immunity generated in body and explain the correlation between humeral and acquired immunity.
Answers
There are basically two types of immunities in our body:
● Innate or natural immunity, and
● Acquired or adapted immunity.
The innate immunity is the immunity which is passed on from parents to the offspring. this immunity is also called as non specific immunity because of its non specific nature in action towards the diseases.
The acquired immunity is the immunity which is gained by the child after its birth and it is a specific immunity. This kind of immunity is either injected into the body of the child or is produced by the immune system. The basis of such immunity are Antigens and B and T lymphocytes.
Humoral immunity is also a type of Acquired immunity. B lymphocytes produce antibodies that regulate Humoral immunity and T lymphocytes themselves do not produce antibodies but help B lymphocytes in their production.
