Rather is a detection system thet uses radio waves to determine the range, angle, or velocity of objects. It can be used to detect aircraft, ships , spacecraft, guided missiles , motor vehicles, weather, formations and terrain.

Uses :

Magnetron generates high -frequency radio waves. ... Antenna acts as transmitter , sending narrow beam of radio waves through the air . Radio waves hit enemy airplane and reflect back.

Radar hardware includes what is needed to :

1) generate a strong short microwave pulse ~106 W , 1 usec (transmitter )

2) Focus it in one direction . (antenna ).

3) Receive the very weak echoes ~10-12 W (antenna + receiver)

4) Amplify these echoes (amplifier, mixer and filters)

5) Extract digital raw data from the signal .
