The main postulates of Dalton's atomic theory are:

.Matter consists of very small and indivisible particles called atoms.

.Atoms can neither be created nor be destroyed.

.The atoms of an element are alike in all respects but they differ from the atoms of other elements.

.Atoms are the smallest units of matter that can take part in a chemical reaction.

Limitation:

.Atoms consist of particles like electrons, protons and neutrons but Dalton says that atoms are indivisible and they csn neither be created nor be destroyed.

.Discovery of isotopes revealed that the atoms of the same element possess different weight.

Answer:

Explanation:

5 POINTS OR POSTULATES-

1)MATTER IS MADE-UP OF TIMY PARTICLES CALLED ATOMS.

2)ATOMS ARE INDIVISIBLE.

3)ATOMS CANNOT BE CREATED OR DESTROYED.

4)ATOMS OF THE SAME ELEMENT ARE IDENTICAL IN MASS AND OTHER PROPERTIES.

5)ATOMS OF DIFFERENT ELEMENTS DIFFER IN THEIR MASSES AND PROPERTIES.

2LIMITATIONS-

1)ATOM IS DIVISIBLE INTO SUB-ATOMIC PARTICLES-e(electron),p(proton),n(neutron).

2)existence of Isotopes, Isotopes are the atoms of same element having same atomic number and same chemical properties but different mass number.
