  • Akbar was the youngest as well as the greatest Mughal Emperor.
  • He ruled between 1556 to 1605.
  • His father was Humayun.
  • When Akbar came to throne he was facing a tough opponent, the Afghans who had seized Delhi.
  • Akbar was succeeded by his son Prince Salim who was given the title Jahangir after his father death in 1605.
  • Jahangir died in 1627.
  • He was succeeded by Shah Jahan( his son) who ruled between 1628 to 1658.
  • He died at the age of 74 years on 22nd January 1666 in Agra.
  • Aurangzeb succeeded Shah Jahan in 1658
  • He was the third son of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan.
  • He died on 3rd March 1707.
