Question :- Enter the values for a and b that complete the sum: 3/x + 5/x^2= ax + b/ x^2 ?

Solution :-

→ 3/x + 5/x^2= ax + b/ x^2

Adding the LHS part we get,

→ (3/x) + (5/x²)

taking LCM of denominators,

→ (3*x + 5)/x²

→ (3x + 5)/x²

Now, comparing with RHS, we get,

→ (3x + 5)/x² = (ax + b)/x²

therefore,

  • a = 3
  • b = 5 .

Hence, value of a is 3 and b is 5.
