Yes they are, and have been for many decades. From mainframes to minis to server chassis - if they are setup correctly, they can run for many years. I have even run development rigs at home that were all on DC power with inverters feeding large RV batteries and minibox power supplies powering the boards and drives - and they ran for nearly 4 years continuously.
