In my opinion entrance tests are essential today.

View:
1) It ensures that the suitable candidate gets in only.
2) It enables the students to get what they worked for according to their capabilities.
3) It helps the students to know ,at what subject or branch of study they are good at.
4) It helps to maintain the standard of students in a particular institution/ class.
5) It makes the admission process easy and transparent.
6) It ensures that no partiality is done. Since the students can get admission only in one way that is to study( work hard, constantly,no procastination)
7) Through admission test , irrespective of the economic background any student can get admission in any institution if they are capable of passing the entrance test with the help of their knowledge in the subject matter.
Counterview:
1) Entrance tests are too much based on bookish knowledge rather than the practical life experiences.
2) It converts a student into reading machine / robot ,due to which a kid at tender misses almost all the joy that he should enjoy .Rather than just becoming the mere part of the huge competition to pass the entrance test that goes on forever.
3) Entrance tests fees are also high due to which it is not possible for some knowledgeable and talented students to get in there.
4) Entrance tests increases tension among young people.
5) Failure in certain entrance tests often leads to depression in certain cases of students.
Thus everything has it's ups and downs, positive and negative sides.But what we choose to focus depends entirely on us. & How we react to the consequences are also in our hands.So we should be positive and move ahead of certain positive and negative impacts and focus on the conclusion that is the end result.
