Drawbacks of democracy can be removed by adopting the following steps :

Efforts should be made not only to educate people but also to awaken them politically. Thereafter, people can realise the importance of the right to vote and other political rights. They should be aware of the candidates contesting in election and choose only the right representatives who are honest, selfless and efficient.

Democratic values should be cultivated in families and the society at large. Every citizen should respect the rights and freedom of others.

Efforts should be made to reduce the social and economic inequalities among the citizens.

Organisation of political parties on the basis of caste and religion should be checked and prohibited wherever possible. Candidates making use of caste or religion during the election ,should be disqualified as it is against the democratic formation of a country.
