Maximilian Robespierre tried his best to bring equality into the French society. He introduced many reforms. Here are some of the policies and law he introduced:-
1. He set a maximum ceiling on wages and prices.
2. Meat and bread were rationed.
3. Use of expensive white flour was forbidden. Every had to consume 'pain de egalite', equality bread, which was made of whole wheat.
4. Everybody had to be addressed as Citoyen and Citoyenne (citizen) instead of the traditional Monsiuer (Sir) and Madame (Madam).
5. Churches were shut down and converted into banks and barracks.
6. Robespierre devoted himself fully to his work in the National Assembly, where the constitution was being drawn up. He fought for universal suffrage, for unrestricted admission to the national guard, for public offices, and for the commissioned ranks of the army and for the right to petition.
He opposed the royal veto. the abuses of ministerial powers, and religious and racial discrimination.
7. He defended actors, Jews and black slaves.
