- We,The People of India- The constitution has been drawn up and enacted by the people, through their elected representatives, and not handed down to them by a monarch or any outside powers.
- Sovereign- People have supreme rights to make decisions on internal as well as external matters.No external power can dictate the government of India.India is not a dominion of any other country. India can acquire any territory or can give its part to any territory.
- Socialist- Indains follows democratic socialism not communist socialism. In democratic socialism,both public and private sector co-exist side by side.
- Democratic- It is a form of government where people elect their representatives, enjoy equal political rights, hold them accountable.
- Republic- The head of the state(president)is an elected person and not a heredity position.
- Justice-Justice are of three types-social,economical,religious. No citizen can not be discriminated on the grounds of caste,gender and religion. Social inequalities should be reduced. Every should get equal wages irrespective of their gender according to their position.
- Liberty-It means that there should be no restraints on the citizens. They can express their thoughts freely.
- Equality-All are equal before the law.No privileges should be given to certain sections of society.
- Fraternity-It means brotherhood.Every citizen should behave as brothers.
