Environmental studies investigate processes that lead to contamination or environmental destruction of water , air, land, soil and species. It helps us to develop standard for, clean, safe & healthy ecosystems. This also tackles concerns such as clean & safe drinking water , proper sanitation,  fresh & clean air, hygienic living conditions, diet and healthy development

• Environmental problems are multifaceted and the common types of problems are water pollution, environmental degradation, resource scarcity, air pollution, climate change, and so on. These problems are carried forward with interaction of human & human activities.
• Given that the interaction between environment and society is complex, the solution of the environment requires ecological & scientific perspectives, as well as political, historical, economic, & moral perspectives, and so on that allow the environment & society to be Integrated. Multi-disciplinary approaches are thus essential  to overcome the complex environmental problems of our time.
• To tackle the dynamic environment issues of our time, a multidisciplinary approach is important. Climate change solutions are good examples of situations which call for complicated syntheses of ideas from a broad range of fields, including science , technology, the social sciences and humanities.
• As the ecosystem is diverse and includes many different ecosystems, including the natural, constructed and cultural environments , environmental studies include an interdisciplinary study of how  biology, politics , geology, law, policy studies, religion, geology, chemistry, economics, &  engineering research converge to inform thought about the impact of humans on the natural world.
• This focus strengthens understanding of the nature of environmental problems and people and specialists in many different areas. One may gain a variety of interdisciplinary and methodological expertise in the field of environment by researching environmental science to help them recognize and solve environmental problems.
• For example, technical and engineering inputs for emissions control, waste management , energy storage, etc. are needed to solve this dynamic , multi-level system's pollution problem. Understanding the system necessitates data simulation & interpretation which need data analysis & statistical & computer model. Pollution largely arises from the affect on human environment which calls for subjects such as archeology, anthropology, behavioural studies, sociology, conflict resolution tools, etc
