¤ The root cells present in root epidermis extend out to form unicellular "ROOT HAIRS".
¤ These cells are called "TRICHOBLAST".
¤ Root hair's presence increase surface area in order to maximize absorption rate.
¤ Due to the presence of root hairs, root epidermis is known as Epiblemma or piliferous layer.
