equal amount of water is kept in the cap and in the dish the water in the cap evaporates faster why?

As we know evaporation is a surface phenomena i.e when the surface area is increased the rate of evaporation increases,as in the case of dish water will be in more contact to the atmosphere .but in the case of cap the water will have less surface area coming under contact to the atmosphere☺️✌️

The water kept in dish evaporates faster than equal amount of water kept in cap because the dish has larger surface area than that of the cap and rate of evaporation is affected by the surface area
