Equal masses of H, O, and helium gas are taken
in a closed container at STP. The ratio of the
moles of gases H,: 0, : He would be
(1) 8:1:16
(2) 8:2:16
(3) 16:1:8

let x be masses OF H O &He

no of moles..

H=x/2 "hydrogen is diatomic

O=x/32 oxygen..........

he=x/4

now ratio =16:1:8

ars2001: sis. even i used to have confusion while taking ratios...but its easy
ars2001: first divide eq.1 and eq.2 then divide eq 2 by eq3
ars2001: then divide the quotients u are getting ....hence you'll get the ratio
